Rory Boyle: Passion Canticles: Gemischter Chor mit Klavier/Orgel

This work for SATB (divisi) Choir and Organ was commissioned by the Birmingham bach Sociey with funds made available by West Midlands Arts. This work is essentially in ternary form, although nearly all the melodic materialisdrawn from the opening section. The two outer sections are settings of Latin texts, the first being a Benediction of the Cross, and the second a Prayer. In the middle section the words of the text (attributed to RobertFayrfax(1470-1527)) have been slightly altered.
