Johann Sebastian Bach: Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme: (Arr. Matt Johnston): Klarinette Ensemble

A rather simple piece in itself, Johann Sebastian Bach’s chorale prelude on the hymn tune “Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme” is the first in the set of Bach’s Schübler Chorales (BWV 645), a collection of six chorale preludes published in 1747 by Johann Georg Schübler. How fortunate are we that Ottorino Respighi created an orchestration of this chorale prelude (in addition to two others) and published them in a collection, "Tre Corali di Johann Sebastian Bach." This arrangement for clarinet choir by Matt Johnston is based on that orchestration.
