Jean-François Michel: 3 Bagatelles: Fagott mit Begleitung

Bagatelles, similarly to “Badineries” or “Capprici” allow composers to express their sens of humor, of parody or derision. This genre inspires strongly Jean-François Michel as these 3 Bagatelles for bassoon and piano show [as well as his 3 Bagatelles – with totally different musical contents – for oboe (BIM OB12), clarinet (BIM CL36), flute (BIM FL43), bass trombone (BIM TB84) or euphonium and piano (BIM TU175); the series will continue for other instruments]. These pieces request a good musical and technical understanding between performers with free hand for their imagination. Jean-François Michel has developed a creativ and versatile repertoire for his numerous and talented students. Nevertheless, the evident quality of these musical works can successfully enrich recital concert programs outside pedagogical institutions.(jpm)
