Valerie Capers

Dr Valerie Capers received her early schooling at the New York Institute for the Education of the Blind and is agraduate of the Juilliard School of Music. She is equally at home in jazz and classical idioms and as a performer appeared with artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Brown, Wynton Marsalis, and Paquita D'Rivera. She is probably best known as an innovative educator.
