Le Rythme au fil des oeuvres Vol. 3

Le rythme au fil des oeuvres (Rhythm through the music) is a collections of pieces for 2nd-6th year pupils. Each new step is introduced within a context of wide musical variety. From Purcell to Messiaen, from largo to presto, from piano to forte, from legato to staccato, the rhythm is as varied as possible. All the examples are taken from works where the rhythm is the basic characteristic.
The aim of this work is to put rhythm practive back into its musical context, into scores that are to be read and performed.
The teacher will find this book useful in many ways: in listening and memorising, in imitation in speaking, clapping or dancing, reading, singing and, of course, in playing.
Finally it is hoped that pupils will wish to look at the original works from which the examples have been taken, and discorver new composers under the guidance of their teacher, who, I trust, will derive great benefit from this book.
