As one of the fundamentals in the study of harmony, particularly for Baroque music, Henri Challan (1910-1977) provides an imperative aid to the understanding of Figured Bass. Challan, a French composer and music educator wasappointed Professor of Harmony at the Paris Conservatoire in 1936.
