Franco Cesarini is a renowned composer, conductor and flautist whose compositions have been performed all over the world, with many being recorded and performed by renowned concert bands. The study of two composers in particular, Claude Debussy and Bela Bartok, led to his decision to devote himself to composition and during his studies he won the composition prize for European Year of Music in 1985.
He has been collaborating with De Haske Publications since 1998. Cesarini later worked with Mitropa Music, and has since set-up his own company, Edition Franco Cesarini, with the aim to publish his works independently and transmit his creativity and enthusiasm to his many fans all over the world. His repertoire contains a majority of works for concert and brass bands.

Notes from the Road: An Overture
Notes from the Road was commissioned to Franco Cesarini by the music Federation of the Canton of Thurgau, Switzerland, as compulsory piece for the second category of the Canton Festival in 2023. The piece is written in the typical form of an Italian overture, with the sequence of veloce-lento-veloce tempi. Reflections on life and the street as its metaphor were the driving elements in composing this piece.
An introspective piece, an invitation to each of us to reflect on our own "path".
