The hugely talented Madeleine Peyroux returns, after a tortuous eight-year wait, with her critically acclaimed album Careless Love where she effortlessly blends vintage Jazz with modern and contemporary styles, country rock and acoustic Blues.
Born in America and raised between France and California, Peyroux absorbed numerous styles and traditions, Blues, Jazz and Roots by artists as diverse as Edith Piaf and Fats Waller. Comparisons have been made to Billie Holliday and the strength of her mellifluous alto voice lies in languid and lingering notes and slow fades rather than the bursts, crescendos or wails of some of her counterparts.
